Scenography for the exhibition 200 years of history 1821-2021 at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Dole, from October 22, 2021 to March 13, 2022.

In collaboration with Lucas Lejeune (graphic design).

The exhibition shows the history of the museum, its origins, the different places it has occupied, the importance of the collections and legacies, etc. In the first room, archival documents coexist with the first works inventoried. Another room is dedicated to the work of restoration, another to the different types of artifacts in the collections: archaeology, precious objects, everyday objects, works of art, etc. A particularity of this museum is to show also contemporary works.
It was necessary to find a simple gesture to gather such diverse forms. The choice of a grid quickly became obvious. It refers to the floor of the museum, a black tile interspersed with white lines, but also to the metal racks used to support the paintings in the museum’s storerooms.
This new grid has no other physical reality than a simple, ephemeral line of graphite on the walls of the exhibition rooms. Despite this fragility, it has all the power of an extraordinary spatial and combinatory tool. There are three sizes of grid, homothetic, and 70 grids in total. Each of them is numbered at the bottom, like the pages of a book.
