La guérite de Marie, 2018
3-ply spruce panels, polycarbonate, felt
344 x 227 x 281 (h) cm
La guérite de Marie is a small freestanding structure conceived to provide the employees of the art centre La Tôlerie, in Clermont-Ferrand (France), with a more comfortable and warmer reception desk. Slightly lifted from the floor, the wooden architecture was designed as a mirror game between the inside and the outside; equipped with a series of shelves, the two main facades suggest, in fact, the internal layout of the structure. On the front, three windows made of transparent polycarbonate boards bring in light, while large removable felt curtains cover the two sides of the construction, conveying a sense of openness to the whole.
